Introduction

Dining Buddy is an AI-powered restaurant discovery service for the Greater Toronto Area, operated by Dining Buddy Inc. These Terms of Service govern your use of the service available at diningbuddy.ca. By using Dining Buddy, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Dining Buddy is currently in public beta. This means features, availability, and stored data may change as we continue to develop the service.

The Service

Dining Buddy provides conversational restaurant search for the Greater Toronto Area. You describe what you're looking for — cuisine, vibe, budget, occasion — and the service returns restaurant recommendations.

Results are recommendations, not guarantees. Restaurant details such as hours, menus, and prices may be outdated or inaccurate. Always verify important details directly with the restaurant.

During the beta period, we do not guarantee uptime or availability. Features may be added, changed, or removed without notice.

AI-Powered Features

Dining Buddy uses large language models (including services from Anthropic and OpenAI) to understand your queries and generate restaurant recommendations. Your conversation content is processed by these third-party AI providers to generate responses.

AI responses may occasionally contain inaccurate information. Always verify important details — including allergen information, dietary accommodations, and pricing — directly with the restaurant. The service should not be treated as professional dietary, medical, or legal advice.

Dining Buddy does not use your conversations to train AI models.

Restaurant Information & Third-Party Content

Restaurant data is sourced from Google Maps, Google Places, and other third-party providers. We do not control the accuracy or completeness of this data. Restaurant details — including closures, menu changes, and hours — may change without notice.

Web search results are provided for informational purposes and sourced from public web content. If you notice inaccurate information, you can report it using the feedback tools in the chat interface.

Acceptable Use

When using Dining Buddy, you agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to access the service through automated means such as bots or scrapers
• Interfere with or disrupt the service
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation
• Use the service to generate content that is harmful, abusive, or harassing

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of these terms.

Conversation history is stored to provide the service and improve search quality. You can request deletion of your data by contacting us at contact@diningbuddy.ca and we will process your request within 30 days. We do not sell personal information to third parties.

Limitation of Liability

The service is provided "as-is" during the beta period without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

Dining Buddy Inc. is not liable for:

• Inaccurate restaurant information or AI-generated recommendations
• Service interruptions or data loss during the beta period
• Actions taken based on restaurant recommendations, including dietary decisions, reservations, or travel
• Third-party content or services linked from the platform

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability is limited to $100 CAD. This limitation does not exclude liability for gross negligence or intentional misconduct under Ontario law.

Changes & Contact

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through the service. Continued use of Dining Buddy after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
